About SplushBuckets
Life's Too Short for Boring Hats.
SplushBuckets started the same way a lot of great ideas do: with a pile of leftover faux fur, a sewing machine, and the inability to leave well enough alone.
I'm Jonny Bloch, a lifelong raver, festival-goer, and the unofficial outfit coordinator for my friends. I've always believed that getting dressed should be part of the adventure. For me, the right outfit isn't just something you wear—it's something that changes how you feel.
Like a lot of people during the pandemic, I dove headfirst into a new hobby. Mine was sewing.
My first ambitious project was a full-length faux fur coat. Let's just say... it wasn't exactly practical. But when I finished, I had a mountain of scraps left over from this incredible blue faux fur with hot pink tendrils.
That fur would eventually become The OG.
Around the same time, I kept seeing bucket hats everywhere. Then I saw one of Pamela Anderson's iconic oversized furry hats and thought:
"What if I made the bucket hat... but turned it all the way up?"
Not just fluffy.
Ridiculously fluffy.
I started experimenting, stuffing hats with leftover faux fur scraps to create something bigger, puffier, and completely over the top. The first versions were hilariously impractical, but after countless iterations, I figured out how to create a hat that was outrageously plush while still holding its shape and actually being comfortable to wear.
Then I started taking them dancing.
To festivals.
To parties.
Pretty quickly, strangers kept stopping me to ask the same question:
"Where did you get that hat?"
So I started making them for my best friends.
Before long, we'd show up looking like a crew of colorful aliens, and everywhere we went, people smiled, laughed, asked for photos, and wanted to know where they could get one.
That's when I realized this was bigger than a hobby.

Why We Make Them
More color.
More ridiculousness.
More conversations with strangers.
More reasons to dance.
More joy.
This Is Just the Beginning
SplushBuckets started with hats.
It definitely won't end there.
I've got plenty more ideas, plenty more patterns, and plenty more ways to bring a little extra into the world.
Stay tuned.
